What is Habitat for Humanity?
We are a non-profit, Christian housing ministry. We build and repair homes all throughout the area using volunteer labor and donations from the public. The families chosen purchase these homes through no-profit loans or other forms of financing.
How are families selected to receive Habitat homes?
Qualified families apply to local Habitat affiliates. The family selection committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, willingness to become partners, and ability to repay the home loan. Neither race nor religion is used to determine which families receive Habitat homes.
Where does Habitat for Humanity operate?
Although we primarily focus on the valley area, Habitat for Humanity operates worldwide. Our operational headquarters are located in Americus, Georgia and our administrative headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
How are donations used?
All donations are used to build more decent, affordable homes for families in need. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. You can easily donate using the Donate button found at the top or bottom of every page.
